Question:How do you get it to make music? I purchased this and it don’t make any sound at all.

Answer:Hold the kalimba in the fingers of both hands with your thumbs pointing up. Use the end of your thumbs or your thumbnails to pluck (slide your thumbs off the end of the metal so it pops up and makes a chiming sound) the bottom end of each "note". Many good instructive videos can be found by googling " how to play a Kalimba". Although this kalimba is a mini version most of the utube instructions will be helpful. 

Question:Does it hurt your thumbs?

Answer:Not at all. I have used it for long periods at a time, trying to learn songs but I haven’t suffered any pain.
